Neal Huff, Gaby Hoffmann, and Sky Yang have joined the cast of Paramount+’s upcoming limited series, The Best of Us, formerly known as 9/12. The series, written by Tobias Lindholm and Frank Pugliese, dramatizes a landmark case that reshaped the fight for accountability in the aftermath of 9/11. It focuses on the relentless legal battle that spanned nearly a decade, resulting in nearly $1 billion in compensation for first responders who fell ill due to their work at Ground Zero. The story is set against the backdrop of the emergency workers' remarkable unity and bravery as the World Trade Center was collapsing.
Huff will portray Peter Allen, a pragmatic colleague of Jeremy Strong's character, Jason Smith, at the law firm. Allen is a key figure who questions the viability of the case early on, providing a sounding board for Smith's ideas. Hoffmann will play Kathleen McCormick, a seasoned FDNY firefighter and activist deeply affected by the ongoing deaths from 9/11.
